Profile
Philipp Frei is an architect, creative designer and researcher based in Vienna.
He studied architecture at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University in Nuremberg (GER) and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (AUT) at the master class of Zaha Hadid, Greg Lynn and Wolf Prix, where he received his degree with distinction.
He gained experience at numerous international renowned architectural offices such as Graft Architects (Beijing CN), Allmann Sattler Wappner (Munich GER) and Coop Himmelb(l)au (Vienna AUT).
He has been a research assistant at the art based research project ‚ROBOTIC WOODCRAFT‘ at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
Philipp Frei is associate and lead developer for robotics/code at ‚PRINT A DRINK‘.
Since 2017 he runs the ‚ARL – ANGEWANDTE ROBOTICS LAB‘ for creative robotics at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
His expertise is in the fields of advanced geometry, parametric design and robotic fabrication.
